Prof. (Dr.) Jyotirmaya Sahoo has over 23 years of experience in both academia and the pharmaceutical industry. Currently, he serves as the Dean at the School of Pharmacy, ARKA JAIN University, Jharkhand, a position he has held since June 2019. Prior to this, he was the Vice-Principal of Sri Jayadev College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Bhubaneswar, and also held the position of Principal-in-charge at IMT Pharmacy College, Puri. With extensive involvement in academic and research communities, he has served as an external expert for doctoral committees at prestigious institutions like SRMIST, New Delhi. Dr. Sahoo is an active member of several professional associations, including the Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India and the Indian Pharmaceutical Association, and has contributed as a reviewer for multiple national and international journals.
Dr. Sahoo’s research interests lie in the exploration of synthetic and semi-synthetic antimicrobials, focusing on their in vitro investigation. His work has been widely recognized, with over 55 publications, 3 patents, 2 book chapters, and 5 books to his credit. He has also been a recipient of numerous awards, including the Best Paper Award in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the Indian Drugs 2016 conference and the “Sri Jaydev Medha Puraskar 2017” for excellence in research. Apart from that his Google Scholar profile has accumulated a total of 708 citations, with an h-index of 13 and an i10-index of 15, Scopus profile citations of 553 and h index of 11.
In addition, he has been honored with a Distinguished Alumni Award from Shiksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University in 2024. Dr. Sahoo actively supervises M. Pharm and Ph.D. students and has organized several conferences, seminars, and faculty development programs.
