Dr.Shailesh Kumar

Experience and Education

Dr. Shailesh Kumar  has been appointed as Associate  Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Arka Jain University Jharkhand with effect from 16th September 2023. Dr. Kumar has extensive leadership experience in both academia and research.
Prior to his current role, he served for over 10 years as a Lecturer and Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala, Punjab. He has been affiliate faculty of VT- USA – TIET  Centre of Excellence in Emerging Materials. An M. Tech from Jamia Millia Islamia (A Central University) New Delhi, Dr. Kumar completed his Ph.D. in 2020 from the Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala, Punjab and completed experimental work from IIT Delhi and Jamia Millia Islmia, New Delhi. His research expertise is in the field of sensing technology with associated interfacing and signal conditioning circuits for sensors-based health monitoring applications in smart grid and health care. He has published more than 30 research papers in peer reviewed journals, and book chapters including IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, IEEE Transactions on Instrument and Measurement, , IEEE Transactions on Device and Material Reliability and more… He has one Indian granted  patent namely “Condition monitoring of transformer breather using smart photodiode array” with Patent No. 565976. He has received research grant of nearly INR 2800000 from VT-USA- TIET, CEEMS as a Principal Investigator (PI) and INR 385000 from JCSTI Jharkhand as a Principal Investigator (PI). Dr. Kumar for a significant contribution under the theme Sensors and Actuators was conferred first position in oral presentation at ICN:3I 2017, held at Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, India during 06-08 Dec., 2017. He has worked as a group leader at departmental level for various accreditation agencies like NAAC, NBA, ABET and NIRF ranking in Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala.
