Dr. Shahin Fatma

Dr. Shahin Fatma is an Assistant Professor of English Literature at ARKA Jain University, Jamshedpur, with more than eight years of experience in teaching, research, and academic mentoring. She holds a Ph.D. in English from Kolhan University, an M.A. in English from Kolhan University, an MBA-HR from Lucknow University, and a B.Ed. Rohtak University, along with a short-term certification from Cambridge University. Her research interests span postcolonial literature, gender studies, and African-American narratives. Dr. Fatma has authored and edited multiple books, including Voices in Violet: An Exploration of Alice Walker’s The Color Purple and Peripheral Literature: Reflections on New Power Hierarchies and Norms, and has published widely in UGC CARE-listed and peer-reviewed journals. She has presented at and organized several national and international conferences, contributing significantly to global academic dialogue.

In addition to her research and publications, she is actively involved in curriculum design, accreditation processes, and academic committees. She also serves as a member of editorial boards and literary clubs, and is closely associated with Toastmasters International, fostering communication and leadership skills among students. She has also designed 3 value-added courses and workshops on communication, media literacy, and research ideation. As the University’s representative for Toastmasters International and member of several editorial and cultural committees, Dr. Fatma seamlessly blends learning with leadership. Her research interests include postcolonial narratives, gender studies, and interdisciplinary cultural analysis.
