Rules for Award of Gold Medal
University Gold Medal shall be awarded for each discipline instead of each program run by the University to a meritorious candidate i.e one medal in each B.Tech (CSE), B.Tech (ECE) etc. The following shall be criterion for award of Gold Medal: – a. The minimum requirement of CGPA for a candidate to be eligible for award of Gold Medal shall be 6.00 (1st Class). b. The candidate(s) must have passed the examination in the regular/normal period of the programme in first attempt/sitting per semester and year wise i.e. there has been no reappear in any subject(s)/course(s) during the period of his/her study. c. The candidate who got reappear on account of absence in any paper/subject in exam shall not be eligible for award of Gold Medal. d. The candidate who secured highest CGPA among eligible candidates (as per criterion ‘a to d’ above) shall be awarded Gold Medal. e. In case, two or more candidates have secured the same CGPA, the following criterion, in order of preference, shall be followed to decide the Gold Medal :- i. The candidate who has secured higher/highest CGPA by considering up to 3rd place of decimal of CGPA shall stand higher in rank. ii. The candidate with highest actual marks/scores obtained in final year shall stand higher in rank. iii. The candidate with highest actual marks/scores obtained in theory papers only of end semester examination of the final year shall stand higher in rank. f. The specifications of medal will be approved by the Vice-Chancellor.
