Dr. Roychand Chenraj, Chairman, The JGI Group meet the Honorable CM Raghubar Das ji to discuss the potential of setting up a private University in and around Jamshedpur.
Dr. Shri Roychand Chenraj today meet the honorable Chief Minister of Jharkhand Raghubar Das ji to discuss the future plan of the JGI Group, Bangalore of setting up a multi-disciplinary University in and around Jamshedpur.
Potential location may well be Gamharia, which is in 10 km distance from Jamshedpur and where group already runs a degree college Jain College, Jamshedpur. Honorable CM has assured to support in all possible ways and speedy approval process.
The chairman said they planned to begin the next academic session from July 2017 at Jain College, which they were already running on 3.5 acres in Gamharia for the past five years. “Jain College has additional infrastructure to host classes for students, who will be enrolled in the new university. Initially, we are targeting 1,000 students. Eventually, we will shift classes from Jain College to the proposed institute,” he added.
Jain added that the objective behind opening a private university in Seraikela -Kharsawan was to provide value-added vocational courses. “We will soon prepare a blueprint of the proposed university, which will be submitted to the government at the earliest,” he said.
