Dr. Rahul Amin (PhD, MMC, MA-Gold Medalist) is an Associate Professor and Assistant Dean, School of Humanities (Department of Journalism and Mass Communication) at Arka Jain University (NAAC Grade ‘A’). He is the recipient of UGC sponsored National Research Fellowship award (MANF) and under this prestigious fellowship programme he was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Mass Communication from the Assam Central University, Silchar. After the successful completion of the doctoral research programme he joined Central University of Jharkhand, Ranchi and started his teaching profession as guest faculty in the Department of Mass Communication.

Dr. Rahul Amin has also international teaching experience in his credit in the field of communication and media studies with the prestigious institution Bayan College affiliated to Purdue University, USA. Six Ph.D. scholars have been doing their doctoral research under his supervision of which two have been awarded.

He is the editor in chief of the newsletter ‘The Impression’. He has authored and published several research articles and edited books in his domain. He also supervised several dissertation and other projects of the students for the award of degree. His area of interest is Communication and Media research, Development Communication, New Media, Folk Media, Health Communication, Documentary film production and Print and Digital Journalism etc.

He has professional involvements with various committees like Academic Council, Board of Studies, Research and Development Council, DRC, IQAC etc. He is also NEP coordinator of the Arka Jain university. A part from this, Dr. Rahul Amin was nominated as the executive member for the both ‘Court Committee’ and ‘Central Library’ of the Assam Central University. He was also elected twice as Assistant General Secretary and Vice President for two consecutive terms in the Students’ Union of the Assam University. He has been awarded different endowment prizes, certificates and awards on different fields for his remarkable achievements.
