Urmila Thakur is an Assistant Professor in the School of Humanities at ARKA JAIN
University, Jharkhand, India. She holds a Master’s degree in Journalism and Mass
Communication and has qualified the UGC-NET exam in 2024. Her academic interests lie at
the intersection of digital media, Ad & PR and evolving communication technologies, with a
growing focus on emerging technologies and their impact on communication. Currently, she
is working on a paper exploring the relationship between media, privacy, and democracy in a
digitalized world. As an early-career academic, she is deeply committed to learning and
contributing meaningfully to the evolving landscape of media studies.
