Dr. Rahul Amin

Experience and Education

Dr. Rahul Amin (PhD, MMC, MA-Gold Medalist) is currently working as an Associate Professor, Head of the Department & Assistant Dean of the School of Humanities at Arka Jain University. He is the recipient of UGC sponsored National Research Fellowship Award. Dr. Amin was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Mass Communication by the Assam University, Silchar. He started his teaching profession at the Central University of Jharkhand, Ranchi in the Centre for Mass Communication. Recently, two Ph.D. scholars have been awarded under his guidance and currently five scholars are carrying out their Ph.D. research under his supervision. Dr. Amin has international teaching experience to his credit in the field of media studies with the Bayan College of Purdue University Northwest, United States of America (USA).

He is the Editor in Chief of the newsletter ‘The Impression’. He has authored and published several research articles and edited books in his domain and presented research papers in different National International Conferences and Seminars. He also supervised several dissertation and other projects of the students for the award of degree. His area of interest is Communication and Media Research, Development Communication, Journalism, New Media and Folk Media etc.

He has involvements with various committees like Academic Council, Research and Development Council, IPR and IQAC Cell etc. A part from this Dr. Amin was nominated as the executive member for the both ‘Court Committee’ and ‘Central Library’ of the Assam Central University. He was also elected twice as Assistant. General Secretary and Vice President for two consecutive terms in the Students’ Union of the Assam University. He has been awarded different endowment prizes, certificates and awards on different fields for his remarkable achievements.
