INTRODUCTION

ARKA JAIN University demonstrates a profound commitment to the student fraternity by offering a comprehensive range of scholarships that cater to both merit and need.This multifaceted approach ensures that talented students have access to quality education, regardless of their financial circumstances as well as encouraged to pursue higher education from the university based on their merit and achievements.

  • Purpose:

The university’s scholarship policy is designed so as to support students from diverse backgrounds, providing financial assistance based on academic excellence, performance in competitive exams, social background, extraordinary performance in sports, financial status, and other relevant factors as well as demonstration of commitment to enriching the university community.

 

  • Scope:

This scholarship policy applies to prospective / present students of ARKA JAIN University, covering polytechnic, undergraduate, postgraduate, programs. It comprehensively outlines the rules, regulations, and procedures for various existing scholarship schemes, including eligibility criteria, benefits, and application process.

By bridging the gap between potential and opportunity, ARKA JAIN University empowers its students to pursue their academic aspirations without financial constraints, fostering a culture of inclusivity and academic excellence.

 

  • Eligibility Criteria:

The eligibility criteria for scholarships at ARKA JAIN University vary depending on the type of scholarship, such as merit-based, merit-cum-means, reservation, and government-defined eligibility criteria. Each academic year, the University communicates specific guidelines for eligibility, as determined and approved by the Management.

While awarding scholarships, the university considers a range of factors, including past academic performance’s, academic excellence, achievements in sports, financial hardship among others.

Eligible students must adhere to the University’s defined process and submit their applications within the specified time frame to be considered for scholarships. For financially disadvantaged students, recommendations from competent authorities may also be taken into consideration. Students seeking financial assistance must submit their applications along with all required information and documents, which will be reviewed by the AJU Scholarship Selection Committee. The committee may request additional documentation as needed. It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that all necessary documents are submitted with their application. Incomplete or inadequate submissions will result in the application being rejected.

ARKA JAIN University, in Jharkhand; guided by a student-centric approach, has developed a comprehensive scholarship policy that clearly defines the rules and administrative procedures for awarding scholarships to deserving students from diverse backgrounds. This initiative aims to provide financial assistance to families, enabling them to continue their educational pursuits without financial constraints.

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION PROCESS :

Application Submission

  • Scholarship applicants can obtain the Scholarship Application Form from Office of the Registrar in the University campus in the month of August / September (Notice will be displayed on the notice board).
  • A student may apply for a scholarship in any ONE of the scholarship categories listed.
  • Scholarship will be offered after joining the program on verification of the original documents.
  • Duly-filled scholarship application form, along with photocopy of the supporting documents, needs to be submitted in Office of the Registrar in the University campus as per the date mentioned in the notice. No Form will be accepted after the due date.
  • Consideration will be given to applications that meet the eligibility criteria for each scholarship category provided the application is received before the specified deadline mentioned in the notice.

 Review and Selection by AJU Scholarship Selection Committee

  • All applications received under the various above-mentioned headings (merit-based, ward/s of defence personnel, sports, alumni, differently-abled, employee or ward/s of employee, need-based, SC/ST, EDB, EWS) are categorized, scrutinized and presented to the AJU Scholarship Selection Committee.
  • The Scholarship Selection Committee matrix includes Deans of faculties, HODs, Registrar, Admission In-charge and any other official whom the committee deems fit to be included.
  • The AJUSSC reviews the eligibility of the applicant and approves the scholarship
  • The finalization of names is at the sole discretion of the AJU Scholarship Selection Committee members.
  • Students who are found ineligible for the award on various factors after scrutiny are not considered for the scholarship for which they have applied.
  • An equitable distribution of scholarship is ensured by the selection committee based on merit/s and promotion of a program, not compromising on the competitive merit and qualifications of the eligible candidate.
  • The decision of the AJUSSC will be considered final and the name of the eligible candidates will be displayed on the University notice board.
  • Scholarship acknowledgment slip would be provided to the students from Office of the Registrar for future references.
  • The scholarship selection committee shall develop a repository of open scholarships and institutions who consider award of scholarship to meritorious students, procedures to attract students with scholarship grants from other agencies/NGOs and encourages students to apply for competitive scholarships/ needs-based/ merit -based/ governmental scholarships and enables students to secure scholarships from corporate donors, foundations, philanthropists and willing non-governmental bodies.

 Scholarship Award Notification

  • The selection committee meets once the application formality is completed and scrutinizes the applications received in that particular academic year.
  • The consideration may be based on merit, merit cum means, and eligibility as per university rules, special talents, sports and the like.
  • The scholarship award clearly mentions the amount, type of scholarship (partial/full/tuition fee waiver for specific period/special categories), duration and terms of reference for renewal and termination of scholarship.
  • Students have to sign the scholarship acceptance letter before the last date.
  • As a matter of policy, the University awards only one scholarship in a year to a particular student.
  • The awardee is communicated the same and is advised to go through the terms and conditions to avail the scholarship and sign the scholarship award letter which mentions the scholarship amount and duration.
  • The clause makes it clear that the facility may be withdrawn by the University at any point of time if the candidate is found ineligible for the same.

Scholarship Policy: Terms & Conditions

  • Every Year, the Scholarship Committee would meet, discuss and mutually decide the percentage and amount of the University scholarships to be offered under the various scholarship categories well before the commencement of the admissions. The same would be ratified by the Academic Council and Board of Management and approved by the Governing Body to take effect.
  • All the eligible student/s have to apply for the scholarship only using university application form for this purpose after completion of the enrolment and/or at the time of enrolment. Scholarship applications received after the due date shall not be considered for the scholarship award selection process.
  • Any student is eligible to avail only one scholarship.
  • The students who are eligible for the scholarship/s as per the norms specified by the University should address their application to the Registrar with relevant documents for consideration
  • If at any stage, it is found that an applicant has concealed, suppressed, distorted any information / facts which would have rendered him /her not eligible for the admission and /or for benefit of fee /scholarship which has been awarded by the University on the basis of submission of documents previously, then the admission and/or benefit of fee/ scholarship will stand cancelled and all such financial support will be recovered by the University.
  • In case of any escalation /representation /dispute /discrepancy /clarification, the decision of the Vice Chancellor will be final and binding.
  • The Management reserves the right to change the scholarship policy as per its discretion at any point of time.
  • If there is any confirmed disciplinary violation, the scholarship will be discontinued permanently. The student will not be eligible for the award of scholarship for subsequent years, if any
  • Student can apply for scholarship in any of the above schemes whichever is higher.
  • Scholarship is not transferable.
  • In case of percentage, rounding off will not be considered.
  • In such categories as mentioned, scholarship is applicable one time only in the 1st year fees and scholarship amount will be waived off from the 2nd semester fees. In case the scholarship amount is more than semester fee, then the remaining scholarship amount will be adjusted in the third and subsequence semester Fees.
  • AJUSSC decision will be final in any of the scholarships availed.
  • In case of lateral admission, only alumni scholarship is applicable. No other scholarship is applicable in case of lateral admission.
  • Scholarship is only applicable in semester fees and not applicable for transport or any other fees.

Withdrawal or Termination

  • The university reserves the right to withdraw or terminate a scholarship if the recipient fails to meet the stipulated conditions or is found guilty of misconduct on any disciplinary ground (leading to suspension) or caught using unfair means in the examination or indulges in similar dubious activities.

 Communication

  • Scholarship opportunities, deadlines, and application procedures will be shared with students via the university’s official channels, including the website and notice

Review and Amendment (If Needed)

  • Changes in the scholarship policy may be made based on the recommendation of the Scholarship Committee. The same would be ratified by the Academic Council and Board of Management and approved by the Governing Body to take effect.
