About the Centre

School of Commerce and Management runs an exclusive Centre for Competitive Studies-“Lakshya” which aims to help the aspirants compete in various national and state level examinations.
The Centre extends its coverage in terms of providing the coaching for examinations including Indian Administration Services, Jharkhand Civil Services, Staff Selection Commission Examinations and Banking.
The CCE nurtures the students in the various fields of the soft skills, including verbal communication skills, written communication skills, non-verbal (body language) communication skills and listening skills.

The centre also helps the students to enable themselves to appreciate the importance of team work and to assist in understanding the nuances of corporate grooming & dressing, corporate etiquette, and ethical dilemmas present in the business and soft skills. Students are also trained to develop necessary skill sets to handle interviews in the best possible manner.

Aims and Objectives:

  • Creating awareness and encouraging the students for UPSC/JPSC and other competitive examinations.
  • To cultivate interest and provide specific training required for such examinations.
  • To build confidence among the students through continuous counseling, and provide the necessary exposure to competitive examination.
  • To provide adequate infrastructure and state of art training tools for achieving such targets.

Modes of Operation:

  • Lecture Series: The centre organises lecture series on various subjects and topics included in syllabi of the UPSC, JPSC, Banking and other competitive examinations. The lectures are arranged twice in a month basis.
  • Weekly Sessions on Current Affairs: The centre arranges weekly sessions on current affairs in collaboration with The News Society.
  • Study Materials: Journals and magazines for various competitive examinations such as Economic and Political Weekly, Competitive Success Review, Kurukshetra, Yojana, The Economic Times, The Economist, Outlook and many more are available in the library.
  • Monthly Progress Report: A consolidated monthly progress report in terms of number of lectures, soft skill training sessions, mock tests, group discussions, article review sessions, published by centre.
  • Competitive Exam Alerts: There is a separate display board showing news regarding various advertisements, recruitments, notifications and any other relevant information about competitive examinations.
